20年以上前にハードロックとかプログレを聴いていた自称「うるさ型」が、これには脱帽。鬼束がこういう重厚な構築的世界をやるとは思っていなかったが、聴いてみると違和感なく鬼束の世界だ。私は、最後の曲に凄さを感じる。ロックと言われるジャンルがやたらバスドラを踏み鳴らすヘビメタか、楽しい健康ポップスに変質した中で、この曲はそれらとは隔絶した世界を持っている。この緊張感、日常を見事に逸脱した感覚、自分の喉を引きちぎるようなラストの破滅的シャウト。しかもそこにピンと張り詰めた美を感じさせる。とっくに絶滅したタイプの凄いロックに出会った感動があった。これは、芸術家の仕事だ。

凄いの一言。
曲数は少ないです。でも一つ一つの曲の濃度が濃いというか・・・
完成度がとっても高いのです。
鬼束氏の低音が身震いしそうです。特にTigerが。
漂流には泣かされました。
とっても内容のある一枚です！とにかく聞いてください。

１stアルバム“Insomnia”は手探りながら正直な気持ちが込められた歌詞が鬼束を世間に知らしめた作品となった。その姿勢は洗練されながらもぎこちなく、不安定さが彼女の武器となっていくのだが、“Suger High”はそんな不安定な感情、怒り、諦め、脆さ、あらゆる要素を肯定し、そんな思いを一番居心地の良い旋律に乗せて歌っている。鬼束の横たわる闇は決して万人からかけ離れているわけではない。このアルバムを聞くとその闇が近くにある事に気づかされる。音楽と自分の可能性を広げた鬼束に今後の期待をすると共に、あまりにも脆い露な心を持った彼女に痛々しくもなったりする。“声”のような頑なに相手を求める感情、“砂の盾”のようなどうしても分かり合えない悲しさは、心を震えさせるものがある。“Castle.Imitation”は優雅に作品の核となっている。訴えたい事はこの曲のサビに集約されている気がする。おすすめは“Borderline”歌の中に感情が荒れ狂う様が凄すぎるの一言。
