マージーサウンドとカテゴライズされていますがロンドン出身のデュオ、マッカートニーの提供曲は絶品ですがこればかり評価されていると思います。マッカートニー以外の曲も早過ぎたフォークロックと評価されてしかるべきものだと思います。

｢Lucille｣｢Tell Me How｣｢Leave My Woman Alone｣等のR&R・R&Bはピンとこないが、｢Five Hundred Miles｣｢Pretty Mary｣といったフォーク・ソングではザ・バーズに影響を与えたと云われるくらいフォーク・ロックの源流らしさが充分出ている。

１９６４年、英国発は数多い。ビートルズ、ストーンズ・・・
系統で言うならば、ビートルズ系。
１９６４年、英国発の数多いグループやシンガー達の中でも、
群を抜いてクオリティの高い音楽を提供してくれていると思う。
彼等をビートルズを前提に語るのは軽率。
このアルバムには、２人が書いた作品が多く、また秀逸！
If I Were You は独特な世界を創りだす名曲。
聴くに値する綺麗なロックを是非聴いていただきたい。
