　カバー曲集の第１弾、同時代の女性歌手の歌を、得意とするバラード調でまとめたＣＤですが、結論から言うと、文句なしの星５つです。

　巧さに、色気が加わり、どの曲も聴き応えがあります。堀内孝雄が「終止符」を歌う時のように、ささやくような歌い方のものがほとんどですが、歌に合わせて表現の仕方を細かく変えています。原曲の石川セリ以上にアンニュイな「ダンスはうまく踊れない」、色っぽさに定評がある園まりや奥村チヨに挑戦した「逢いたくて逢いたくて」や「終着駅」、ちょっと無邪気に歌ってみせる沢田知可子の「魔法の鏡」、しっとりと歌った山口百恵の「愛染橋」やテレサ・テンの「生きがい」。

　しかし、圧巻はカルメン・マキの「私は風」です。＜静かな絶唱＞とでも形容しておきましょうか。心の底から哀切な叫び声が聞こえて来るかのようです。明菜ファンなら、彼女の心を忖度し、鳥肌が立つだろうと思います。この曲を聴くだけでも値打ちがあります。

　なお、このＣＤは、９年前に出されたものと同一の内容です。当時の歌声を聞けるという点でも貴重なアルバムです。

どの曲もクセがあるものですが、聴いてみれば全て
『明菜節』とでもいうべき仕上がり。
特に『ダンスはうまく踊れない』の絶妙なアンニュイさ、
カルメン・マキのハードな世界すら昇華させた『私は風』は
聴く価値あり、だと思います。

１~８曲目までは、へえ~って感じで聞いてました。
さらりと歌ってる。ストリングスを偏重したムーディーな
アレンジがしっとりしていて邪魔にならないのがいいですよね。
久々に聞いた「思秋期」は、岩崎宏美ほどのくどさがなく、
ナルシスティックなおセンチの世界とは一線を画した、感情を抑えた
歌唱法にむしろ聴き入ってしまって、ふ~っと忘れていた軽い切なさ
を思い出させてくれました。この曲は何度も聴いてしまいました。

そして、ラストの「私は風」。圧巻ですね。これこそまさに
中森明菜の真髄！と納得しました。
１~８曲目まで抑えに抑えてしんみりと聴かせておきながら、
最後に大どんでん返しを食らったと、言っては乱暴な褒め方かな？(^^;;
このドラマティックな締めくくりは、やはり彼女にしか出来ないワザ
なのです。もう、満腹満腹っていうくらい明菜を堪能させてくれます。
「私は風」をセレクトしたのが本人なのかプロデューサーなのかは
分かりませんが、「難破船」を超えるドラマであることに間違い
ありません。「私」と明菜がだぶって胸がいっぱいになりました。
明菜版「私は風」を聴かずして明菜は語れない。

中森明菜にしか歌えない歌、明菜じゃなきゃ表現できない世界って
やっぱりあるんですよね。
