彼女の楽曲にしては影の薄い感のある『草原の人』。しかし、メロディーの転調が非常に心地よく、私の中ではベストシングルです。ただのアイドルの楽曲と侮ることなかれ。

それが使命であるかのように「ハジケテ」いた今までの「あやや」のイメージを払拭し、
無用なディテールを廃した事で生まれた「透明感」を土壌として、
ひとつひとつの「言葉」を大切に、伝えるように唄われるその「歌」で、
「歌」というものは「言葉」を伝える為にあるものだということを思い出させてくれました。

　私は、美空ひばりを知らない。しかし、そんな予備知識はいらない。
要は、あややである。ただの、お気軽ソングのミーハー歌手と高をくくっていた私の誤謬を芳しくも、美しく、颯然と破壊し尽してくれた。
　彼女こそ、真実である。本当の、生まれながらの、歌手なのだ。古いレコードを引っ張り出して比較することのなんと愚かなことか。
　彼女は彼女の、全く新しい、よろこびをもたらしてくれるのだ。新鮮な精気の照応である。森の住む、妖精の影を見ん。彼女の後光の中に。　神なき巫女が、平成の濁世に、悦ばしくも降臨したのだ。
