1stよりも、2ndのほうが個人的には好きです。1stは後半の曲がだらだらしていたけど、こちらは13曲すべていいです。

私の一押しの曲はWORLD SO COLD。負の感情が漂うメロディーと詞にカッドの静と剛のボーカルが混ざり、うまく言い表わせない雰囲気がでている曲です。マッドヴェインの曲はどれも喜怒哀楽が入り交じっているにも関わらず、それらの感情がハッキリとわかるという曲が多いですね。後、私は牡牛座なのでTRAPPED IN THE WAKE OF A DREAMを聞きまくりました(笑)

よくslipknotと比較されるマッドヴェインですが、slipknotとは全くの別物です。前作の強烈なメイクやボーカルのシャウトスタイル等からの比較だろうと。slipknotがごちゃ混ぜのメタルならマッドヴェインはプログレッシブメタル。複雑な音の構成と美しいメロディ。そして時に攻撃的なギターリフとシャウト。
あらゆる面でメタル界を牽引する素晴らしいバンド。今作のオススメは映画サントラにもなったnot falling、world so cold。
