武田鉄矢が「３年Ｂ組金八先生」に出演したことにより、おそらくは海援隊にもっとも勢いがあった時期のアルバム。ヒット曲「贈る言葉」、「ＪＯＤＡＮ　ＪＯＤＡＮ」が収録されています。「贈る言葉」以降、海援隊の曲は「癒し」に傾斜していったと思うのですが、このアルバムではもっと多様なスタイルを聴くことができます。例えば「ＪＯＤＡＮ　ＪＯＤＡＮ」における、コミカルで自嘲的に大衆を歌った曲、「２流
の人」のように歴史上の実在の人物、黒田官兵衛についての曲、「石に刻め」のように人間のネガティブな面を歌った激しい曲。（ちなみにこの「石に刻め」という言葉は武田鉄矢がヤクザから教わった「情けは水に流せ、恨みは石に刻め」というコトバが元になっているそうです。）

全体的に「!洗練」というコトバからは極めて遠いところにある音楽だとは思いますが、その泥臭さ、和風さ、猥雑さ、が海援隊のユニークなオリジナリティを形づくっていたのだと再確認できます。

みんな知ってる「贈る言葉」が収録されたオリジナルアルバム。
海援隊のアルバムの中でも上位に入るべき傑作盤ではないでしょうか？
タイトル曲も含め「日本史観」の強いアルバムですが、
後のライブや武田ソロでも聴かれる中牟田氏の名曲「風景詩」や、
「JODAN JODAN」が収録されているのもこのアルバムです。

余談ですが、金八先生がたのきんら生徒と海援隊のライブに行く話がありましたが、
その時のツアーはこのアルバム発売当時の設定だったようですね。
楽しいライブに気を良くした金八がこのアルバムを買い、
楽屋に武田鉄矢を尋ねに行くシーンが印象に残ってます（笑）
LPは勿論、最初のCD化の際も購入しましたが、

24ビットリマスタリング、紙ジャケ仕様ともなれば今回も買わずにはいられません。
三回目の同一アルバムですが（笑）それでも欲しい一枚だと言えるでしょう。
因にジャケ写は若き日の加納典明氏によるものです。

がんばれロボコンのロビンちゃん事蝦名由紀子さん主演の反戦映画「ガラスのうさぎ」の主題歌「肩より低く頭をたれて」をやっと聴く事が出来ました、個人的には大名盤だと思います
