私の北欧メタル好きは、このアルバムから始まったといても過言ではありません。発売当時、大げさではなくこのアルバムのみでレコード針を一つ消耗しきったと言ってもいいくらい聴き込みました。北欧の雰囲気ってＢ級のウェットさが重要なポイントだとつくづく感じるアルバムです。

オリジナルの音源はなんと'84年である！
過去の作品だけに、音の悪さや古臭さは致し方ないのだが・・・
時代を経ても色褪せることのない哀愁のメロディ、テクニカルな演奏など、
現代に続く北欧様式美メタルの息吹がこのアルバムからは読み取れる。
特に、1)1789のヨナス・ハンソンのギター・ソロ、
3)ALWAYSのイェンス・ヨハンソンのキーボードなどは素晴らしく、
このアルバムにおけるハイライトと言えよう。
その他の曲でも、ギターとキーボードによる壮絶なバトルという、
DEEP PURPLEスタイルの曲が並び、様式美ファンなら心踊ること間違いない。
尚、このアルバムが気に入った人は同時代の北欧メタル・バンド、BISCAYAも必聴だ！
