ウ゛ァン・ダムの中では当たりに入る。
華麗な蹴り技の連続で飽きさせない。
長さも90分程度などで丁度良い。

謎の教団の秘宝を巡るアドヴェンチャーという、ある意味では語り尽くされたパターンの作品です。
このタイプはインディ・ジョーンズのようなSFXを駆使した冒険ものを想起させますが、この作品はむしろジャッキー・チェンのサンダーアームのような肉体派アクションです。
SFファンタジーの要素はなく、むしろ中世より続くカルト教団の中の狂信的テロ一派との戦いと秘宝伝説を絡めたもので、カーアクションや銃撃アクション、そして何よりも、ヴァン・ダムお得意の空手アクションが非常に光っています。
エンディングのNG集など、ジャッキー映画のような構成からスタッフはジャッキー映画のファンなのかもと思わせます。
ストーリーはそれほど凝りはないですが、故チャールトン・ヘストンがチョイ役ながらでてきたりとちょっとキャストは豪華。
序盤はロシア、全編ほとんどがイスラエルという一種独特な文化を持つ国が舞台の為、ちょっと観光気分が味わえるところがお得な感じでしょうか。
相変わらずのヴァン・ダムの善人振りと、スルドイ空手の回転ゲリ、デヴュー当時から変わらぬ体の柔らかさはお見事です。
お気楽な空手使いの泥棒が、濡れ衣を着せられ逃げまくりながら、美女と一緒に誘拐された父親を救い、ついでにテロ集団の悪の陰謀を打ち砕く、という非常に安心してみられる娯楽作です。
内容は平均点ですが、ヴァン・ダムがカッコいいので平均よりやや上の出来といったところ。
