アレ？ニューミュージック系がほとんどないんじゃないの？と
お思いかもしれませんが、この年は、年間TOP10に
4作も演歌があったり、あとは中森さんと少年隊など
歌謡曲黄金時代でこれは大変正しい選曲なのです。
「ヴィーナス」なんてユーロビートカバーの走りも
ありますし。ちゃんとBOOWYも収録されていますし。

ということで、時代の空気がきちんと再現されていて
1枚なのに、お得だと思いますよ。満足行かない人は
2枚ぐみもどうぞ！（微笑）

こうして選曲を眺めると、１９曲中女性アイドルのみでも１１曲が占められ、まだまだアイドルが邦楽界において主流だった事を感じる。また、小泉・聖子・中森のように８０年代初期のアイドルがこの時も、まだ健在だった意外性も感じるがそれらはそれなりの根拠があったようにも思う。つまり、小泉は既にアイドル歌手としては、もう一山超えた状態ではあったが、本ＣＤにもセレクトされているアルフィー高見沢提供曲「木枯らし」によって、新たなアーティストとしての側面も開花させることに成功、聖子も結婚後のブランクという負点があったものの、アメリカ進出という新たな打開策も貢献した、明菜は「ＴＡＮＧＯＮＯＩＲ」に代表されるような様々な世界中のあらゆるジャンルに挑戦し、アイドルの脱皮を図ると共に、息の長いキャリアを重ねられたように感じる。
一方で、上記アイドルと世代交代する形で南野・中山等の８０年代後期アイドルが登場しているのも興味深い。

また、ディスコブームに乗る形でダンスサウンドをアイドル界に流し込んだニュータイプアイドルとして荻野目・長山の活躍や渡辺・うしろゆびのように夕ニャンから登場というメディアタイアップアイドルというのも今まで無い形だった。その後の、モーニング娘等への影響も見逃せない。

「マリオネット」により、黄金期を築くかと思われた矢先の電撃解散はＢＯΦＷＹ、この出来事により更に今現在神格化されているが、ロックに市民権を与えた功績と後のバンドブームの狼煙を上げる切欠を作った事実もあった。

妖艶なダンスで魅了させたのは、吉川晃司。彼もまたデビュー間も無くして自ら作詞作曲をこなし、シンガーソングライターとしての能力を早くも発揮し、アイドル歌手を払拭する事に成功、後にコンプレックスの結成や今に至る長いキャリアの一端を早くも覗ける。
８０年代中期に新星の如く誕生した渡辺美里の、非凡な歌唱能力、小室・大江を筆頭とした多彩なクリエイターに恵まれた事により、以降９０年代までコンスタントな人気を獲得し続ける。

上記のようなアイドル隆盛の中にも、演歌は常にランクインされており、時代に影響されない同ジャンルの強みを改めて感じる。

８０年代終盤を迎えながら、いまだアイドルがチャート内を席巻していた。というのが１９８７年の概況であった。
