７０年代末は、ジャンルの色分けが難しくなり、歌謡曲とニューミュージックの境目が曖昧になってきていた。後のＪ-ＰＯＰというカテゴリーの源がここにある。

肝心の中身も、ピンクレディー以外は区分けしづらい曲が並ぶ。渡辺真知子の「ブルー」、さとう宗幸の「青葉城恋歌」、庄野真代の「モンテカルロで乾杯」、原田真二の「てぃーんずぶるーす」などなど、歌謡曲なの？ニューミュージックなの？フォークなの？といちいち問いただしていたらきりがない。ただし、みんな名曲であることには違いないので、買って損はないです。

個人的には、本当は信州がモデルの「北国の春」や女歌の横綱・増位山大志郎の「そんな女のひとりごと」といった演歌がいい味出していると思います。

そして、トリを飾る「魂はそれを我慢できない」。「六本木心中」へのプレリュードです。

　この青春歌年鑑には、１９７８年の大ヒット曲が満載です。
とくに、さとう宗幸（むね）さんの『青葉城恋唄』はいちばん大ヒットした曲でもあるんじゃないでしょうか？。
地元宮城県仙台市を流れる『広瀬川』、伊達政宗公の『青葉城』
仙台は、いいところです。

　そのほか、’７８年の大ヒット曲が満載のＣＤです。
