陳腐な表現だが，ルネッサンスの最高傑作。この時期ルネッサンスは様々な意味で油が乗っていた。無論，他のアルバムも秀逸で甲乙つけ難いのだが，個人的には“シェラザード夜話”が一番好き。特にアルバムタイトル曲とOcean Gyspyはバンドの、ということだけでなく，プログレ界でも最も美しい曲の部類に入るだろう。何故これほど素晴らしい作品を創るバンドが一部のファンにしか支持されないのか，世の中不公平なものだ。確かに，現在に続いているルネッサンスはルネッサンスではないようなので，好かないが，かつては最高のバンドであったことをこのアルバムが示している。聴かなきゃ損の作品。

ルネッサンスの最高傑作は『ノベラ』かこの『シェラザード夜話』
に意見が分かれますが、どちらも最高に良いです。また、初期から中期
の他アルバムの出来もかなり良く傑作か名作しか残していないこの
バンドは本当に恐ろしいです。因みに分裂派バンド（と言うより本当は
こっちがオリジナルのルネッサンス）のIllusionも違う味を出していて

これ又、素晴らしいです。
素晴らしい素晴らしいと連発していますが、何がどう素晴らしいのか・・
まずシンフォニック・ロックという名において、このバンドは神格化
されています。そして神格化されるのも十分納得がいく実力と実績が
あります。（完全にではないですが・・）世界制覇をした強者です。

全てが完璧です。特に女性ボーカルのアニー・ハズラムはブリティッシュ・
ロックの名ボーカリストとして雑誌に名が挙がらないことは殆どないです。
音楽をかけた途端、部屋の雰囲気が一気に変わる・・・そんな作品が
多く、常時BGMとして聴くにはツライ。椅子に座ってう~んと瞑想
?しながら聴くプログレらしいプログレです。

関係ないですが、プログレはBGMにはツライです。先日Gentle Giantを
車でかけていたら事故りそうになりました。

プログレでありシンフォニックロックでありフォークロックであり…。もはやジャンルを越えた作品だと思う。哀愁感のある美しいメロディにアニー・ハズラムの透明感溢れる歌声が心地よい。まさにアルバム名にふさわしく一貫したストーリーを聴く事が出来る。クラッシック好きの方はもちろん、ニューエイジとしても聴ける気がする。
