   北海道の富良野を舞台に、情けなく、みっともなく、しかし同時に逞しくも生き続けていく黒板家とその周囲の人々の人生を描く人気ドラマのスペシャル版第3作。今回のメインとなるエピソードは、純の初恋。少女・れいとの出会いを通して大きく成長していく純。それはやがて父の五郎を越えていくことでもある。また、連続ドラマ時代のエピソードである草太とつららのドラマにも、つらら不在ではあるが一つの決着がつけられ、代わりに2人の共通の友人であったアイコが初登場。草太との今後を期待させる役回りを演じる。子はいつか親を乗り越え、旅立っていくということをしっかりと描ききった、シリーズ代表作のひとつ。なお、物わかりのいい、いわゆる「いい子」の蛍は本作で見納めとなる。（田中 元）

純とれいちゃん（横山めぐみ）との初恋を描いた名作！

二人の本当に中学生の頃の真っ直ぐで純粋な気持ちが随所からにじみ出ていて、
自分の思春期の頃の純粋だった気持ちを思い出してしまう事でしょう。
しかも富良野や美瑛の四季移ろいゆく風景がとても美しいこと。

家庭の事情で、夢をあきらめ、純の前からも人知れず去って行かなければ

ならなかったれいの心。雪の上に残った、一回振り返って、去って行った足跡。。　
尾崎豊の歌はこれ以上にないジャストマッチで、

ラストシーンの、心に少しやましい気持ちがありながらも旅立つ純へ
五郎が渡したなけなしの餞別も、親の愛は計り知れないものなんだって、
涙なくして見れません。

村人や周辺人物をめぐるエピソードを描いた前２作のスペシャルと異なり、純の成長に真っ向から向き合った作品。青春期特有の自意識や恋、別れを詩情あふれる風景とともに描いた傑作です。純に注ぐ作家の温かい目が感じられ、世の中に出てゆくすべての者への応援歌のようにも思えました。純とれいの不器用な恋と、自分たちではどうしようもない別れ…ラストの20分は何度見ても胸ふたがれる思いを禁じ得ません。

率直に言って、これ以降は、物語の舞台が分裂し、スペシャル版で描き切るにはストーリィ展開に無理を感じます。けれどもこの作品は、家族の成長を描きながら物語としても完結しており、最初のテレビシリーズと並んで、今も折に触れて見返しています。蛇足ながら、放映時、尾崎豊は未だマイナーな存在で、それがドラマの中でいっそう「I Love You」の歌声を輝かせていた気がします。

作品だと思います。尾崎豊の音楽が、とても印象的に使われ
ていて、これで尾崎ファンになった人も多いのではないで
しょうか・・・
甘く切ない初恋と故郷からの旅立ち。必見の一作です。
