　噛めば噛むほどに味わい深く、それはまるで本人の人生そのものであるかの
ようにちょっぴり苦い。まっすぐに迷うことなくマンゲイラ（リオの最古のサ
ンバエスコーラ）への愛を歌い、その歌詞の内容はまるで人生とシンクロさせ
ているかのように切なく感じた。
この時代のアコースティックなサウンドはカルトーラの歌声と絡んで、古き良き時代のサンバの訛りをもよく顕している。しみじみとサンバカンサォンに酔
いしれて下さい。

BMGからサンバの古老カルトーラの「愛するマンゲーラ」出ましたね。以前テイク・オフというレーベルから2in1で出てましたが、これこそ音楽史上の歴史的名盤です。

　ジャケットを見ると、なんか、ライトニン・ホプキンスとか、アメリカのちょっと怖めのお爺さんブルースマンを連想してしまう。
　しかし、流れる音楽は、もう少し滑らかで優しい。
　本作の主人公は、「ブラジル・ポピューラー音楽史上の巨人」なんだそうだが、浅学にも、今回はじめてその名前を耳にした。
　しかし、ライナーを読むと。1908年生まれの彼のファースト･アルバムがリリースされたのは、なんと、1974年とのこと。そして、1977年発表の本作は、わずかに３作目、ということだ。
　音楽的には、なんといったらいいのだろう、滋味溢れるノスタルジー、老境だからこそ表現できるまろやかさ、といったところか？
　個人的には、それほど大好き！　といった類の音楽ではないが、この穏やかさにハマるリスナーも多かろう。
　ライナーノーツに書かれていることは、ほとんどが初耳の情報ばかりで、大変勉強になりました。

　なお、MUSICA LOCOMUNDOによってサポートされた今回の「ブラジル名盤紙ジャケット･コレクション」は、目の付け所は大変良いが、ジャケットの紙が薄くてペラペラという致命的な欠点がある。
　価格帯を少しあげてもいいから、頑丈な紙で製作し、永久保存版を目指して欲しかった。
