内容紹介

原作・監督・メカデザイン：河森正治による、「マクロス」20周年記念の新作。
全5巻予定の第1巻。各話30分予定。

   1982年の放送以来の人気を誇る「超時空要塞マクロス」シリーズ。多数の続編が製作される中、放送20周年を記念してOVAとして発表された作品が本作品にあたる。これまでの作品が、地球対ゼントラーディの戦争以後を描いてきたのに対し、本作は初めてそれ以前の時代を舞台とした、いわばエピソードゼロである。
   1999年、地球上に落下してきた巨大戦闘艦、後のマクロス。そのため地球にとって早すぎるテクノロジーを巡り統合戦争が勃発し、戦闘に駆り出されたパイロットのシンは南海の孤島に不時着する。そこにははるか昔に異星人がもたらした遺産らしきものがあり、そのため統合軍、反統合軍が島に侵攻しようとしていた。
   CGの発達によって大幅に迫力を増したアクションはもちろん、河森正治、板野一郎といったオリジナルスタッフが作品を手がけているのも見どころだ。（田中 元）

　マクロス２０周年の原点回帰。それは、ビフォー・ザ・マクロス。
マクロス進中式以前、ＴＶ版「マクロス」でバルキリーのテストパイロットを務めたロイ・フォッカーが、VF-0の実戦部隊の隊長として登場。VF-1とはエンジンスペックが全く違うところが、マニア心をくすぐるハズ。現用戦闘機のF-14やMig29が登場するなど、サービスは満点。

　渡米して女優としても目覚めた歌手・飯島真理のミンメイ復活は、残念ながらならなかった。アメリカでもアニメファンの伝説となっている彼女の20年目のミンメイ肯定とは裏腹に、監督河森正治のミンメイに対する想いが、それをさせなかった。

　とはいえ、マクロス作品に伝わるテーマ＝「文化」「歌」がプロトカルチャーを通じて再び語られる。新しくて最も古い主人公の活躍に期待！

マクロスといえばドッグファイト。マクロスプラスが一番の作品だと思ってます
ゼロ見て初のＣＧに期待はしなかったですが、思った以上にやりますね
これからに期待大。
ナイスドッグファイト！！！！
俺はマクロスのミサイルの軌道が好きだ

やっぱＶＦ-０、１の機体は美しい！(*^_^*)ポッノ
思わず感動のひとときできた。

難としたら２点。少佐がちょっとカッコ良すぎる。いつものロイではない。
敵の機体が『７』に出てくる・・・・・と同じ。（バサラーの歌が聞こえてきそう・・・・・）

次作が楽しみです。
