ＰＳ２にも移植された、大人気ＲＰＧの第２弾です。前作と比べるとキャラクターの表示や文字の表示などが全体的に大きくなったので画面が非常に見やすく迫力もありました。同じ種類でも１つにまとめる事が出来ず、個人個人で少量しか所持出来なかったアイテムがパーティ共有になり各９９個まで持てる様になったので広いダンジョンでもアイテム整理をする事無くサクサク進めて回復アイテムも多く持てるので冒険も楽になった気がします。また、使い込まないとなかなか習得・強化出来なかった必殺技や魔法が、今作では戦闘で手に入ったポイントを振り分ける事で習得・強化が出来るシステムになったので自分の好みやよく使う物から育てていけるのが良かったです。

神と邪神の戦いの痕跡といわれる巨大な断崖によって、いくつかの地方に分断された世界。
金次第で働く何でも屋の剣士リュードと、教会聖歌隊の少女エレナとの出会いから、物語は動き始めます。
邪神の復活を阻止するための旅の途中で起こる出来事は、単純な善悪二元論では割り切れないことばかり。
それぞれに悩みながらも進むリュードたちですが、やがて衝撃的な大事件が起き、最悪の展開へ……。

RPGの要である「シナリオ」と「戦闘」、本作はどちらも出色の出来です。
戦闘は単純なターン制ではなく、敵味方それぞれの行動タイミングを一本のゲージ上で視覚的に表現していて、
タイミング良く強打や必殺技をぶつけて敵の戦闘行動をキャンセルさせるなど、戦術の組み立てが重要となります。
キャラの成長には、戦闘で得た技ポイント・魔法ポイントを自由に割り振れる「技能書」と「マナエッグ」によるカスタマイズの要素があり、
頭をひねって効果的な組み合わせをいろいろ考えるのが楽しいです。
シナリオ面では王道RPGらしく、各キャラが心の奥底に抱える苦悩と、それを仲間と共に乗り越える友情がしっかりと描かれます。
中盤〜後半の展開が非常に重い分、最終決戦前後の主人公たちのセリフはかなり爽快です。

画面に少々の古臭さがにじむのは仕方ないところですが、面白さの本質は今プレイしても全く色あせていません。
職人集団ゲームアーツの名は伊達ではない、ということでしょう。
