当時のｼｶｺﾞﾌｧﾝ（特に日本）には、予想を超えた音に驚いたｱﾙﾊﾞﾑです。
6枚目でのある程度のﾚｲﾄﾞﾊﾞｯｸ風からの続きは予想出来た物の　此処まで作り手個人の個性が強く今までのｱﾙﾊﾞﾑにあるﾄ-ﾀﾙｲﾒ-ｼﾞが感じられない1枚です---がﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞの音楽観がよく出せた好版です。
元々LIVEとｱﾙﾊﾞﾑで聞かすﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞ（ｵﾘｼﾞﾅﾙ期）だけに変化が大きい事への反応が日本ファンには有った様です。
ｱﾒﾘｶに於いては、5-9枚目がｱﾙﾊﾞﾑﾁｬ-ﾄの1位に在り絶頂期の中間に位置するアルバムです。
5枚目のｻﾀﾃﾞｲ--のﾋｯﾄでのﾎﾟｯﾌﾟ路線よりﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞ結成時のｱﾊﾞﾝｷﾞｬﾙﾄﾞに戻るべきとの意見対立の妥協点としてﾒﾝﾊﾞ-個人の作りたい物でとのﾄ-ﾀﾙ性無しに為ったらしいです。
ﾌﾟﾛﾃﾞｭ-ｻ-のJWｶﾞﾙｼｵの影響も有り時代背景が作風に有った頃の1枚です。

いきなりクロスオーバーなインスト5曲が演奏される最後は真っ当なジャズだ5曲で軽く25分は超えるぞ当時のファンは度肝を抜かれ困惑しただろうメンバーの確信犯的所業は痛快だ全曲インスト路線だったら★★★★★だったかもな問題は#6以降にあるサルサ風やらディスコ風やらAOR風やらフォーキー風やら何やらその他いろいろ雑多な内容だがシカゴである必然性が感じられないコンテンポラリーミュージックからは1stアルバムのような風格は望むべくもないと言うか俺の中ではシカゴは1stアルバムで終わってんのよ。
