オープニング曲は、絶え間なく疾走するドラムと雷鳴のように轟くベースという魅力的な組み合わせによって、イギー・ポップのこれまでの楽曲のなかでストゥージーズ時代をのぞいて最高のトラックとなっている。さらに本作には、「La la la la la la la la la...」という物憂げでおかしなコーラスがかぶさる不気味なアップビートの「The Passenger」もある。だからこそ本作は、イギーのソロ時代における最高傑作なのだ。イギーのソロデビュー作『Idiot』と同じく本作でも、デイヴィッド・ボウイがプロデューサー兼ソングライター兼ポップスターとしてのイギーの総監督として、（その3つの役割で全部かもしれないが）全面的に音造りに手を貸している。本作は英国のヒットチャートで28位まで上がった。もちろん、「Sixteen」「Neighborhood Threat」のざらついた暗いギターを聴けば、イギー流のポップ・ミュージックが型どおりのものでも当たり障りのないものでもないことは明らかだ。皮肉と生きる喜びがたっぷり詰まった「Some Weird Sin」（「それこそ、おれの望むもの」）は、1977年のイギーのテーマ曲も同然だった。（Percy Keegan, Amazon.co.uk）
