カーク・フランクリンが“ゴスペル”という一般的に存在していた音楽的な枠組みを拡大し、より大衆的な音楽ジャンルへとゴスペルを持っていった意欲作。R.ケリー、メアリーＪなど、R&B界のビッグアーティストの参加からもそのことが判る。

したがって内容はよりポップ。特にバラードはカークのメロディメイカーとしての才能が爆発している。とにかくあらゆるジャンルの知識があるカークだけに、アルバムの音楽的な幅は広い。音楽的統一感は一見するとないが、全体にカーク節が刻まれていることは聴けば聴くほど良くわかる。
ゴスペル初心者から玄人まで幅広く聴ける作品であろう。
