本アルバムは，70年代中期から80年代の優れたパフォーマンスを記録しており，Wayne Shorterのサックス･ソロを聴くだけでも価値はある。また，各々の時代のリズム･セクションを比較する楽しみもあり，中でもAlphonso Johnson - Chester Thompsonのファンキーな"Black Market"リズム隊のライブは貴重。ただ，Weatherのキャリアを俯瞰するのであれば，Miroslav Vitous在籍時の初期の演奏を1曲でも含めるべきであり，その点だけが惜しまれる。

1975年から83年までのライブと未発表音源を集めた2枚組。
ウエザー・リポートの未発表ライブや未発表曲がどのくらいストックであるのかわからないが、ほんとに宝の山だろう。本アルバムの1曲目『Freezing Fire』を聴き出すと直ぐにそう思えた。ホントにこのバンドは凄い。ジャコのベースも凄いが、ショーターもザビィヌルも負けてはいない。ホントに希有なバンドだ。まさに『The Elegant People』だ。

買って絶対損しませんね。他のライブ・アルバムと重なりもなく、まったく違った雰囲気を持っているアルバム。

　これまであまり触れる機会の少なかったアルフォンソ・ジョンソン期とヴィクター・ベイリー期のライヴ音源を公開。スタジオ音源では何かとジャコ期のみが持ち上げられる傾向があったが、ライヴを聴く限りではむしろテク、独創性どちらもみな互角でアルバム全体に統一感さえ感じられる。「個人の演奏の良し悪しではなく、グループが奏でる楽曲としての完成度が大切なのだ」というザヴィヌルの言葉が聞こえてきそうな作りだ。バンドとしての演奏が成り立たなくなるすれすれまでガンガン弾きまくる暴れ馬ジャコをうまく御し、手数は多いながらも他の楽器の旋律を引き立たせるアルフォンソの懐の深さをうまく利用しているザヴィヌルの綿密なプロデュース手腕が、これだけ各人が弾きまくっていても一番目立つ内容になっている。
　これから思うに、ライヴよりも実はスタジオ録音の方が自由度が高かったのかもしれないという疑念も湧いてくる。単純に超高度のアンサンブルの羅列ではないひねりを伴ったアルバムだ。やっぱりこの爺さんは伊達に何十年も音源を寝かしはしないのである。
