   1981年の開始以来、断続的に続いてきた国民的ドラマシリーズ最終作。草太から引き継いだ牧場経営がうまくいかず、莫大な借金を抱えたあげく倒産に追い込んでしまった責任から、純は富良野を離れて羅臼で暮らしている。純と共同経営者だった正吉も失踪し、蛍は女手一つで息子の快を育てている。五郎は自身の体調不良と中畑の妻の病気を目の当たりにすることで遺言を書き始める。
   最終作ということもあってか、これまでは諸問題に折り合いをつけがちだったが、今回は正面から逃げることなく向き合う、決意の物語であるといえるだろう。だが、だからといって彼らの人生がまだ終わったわけではなく、やはりこれもまた通過点の一つに過ぎない、そういうメッセージを全編から感じ取れる、ひとまずの完結編。（田中 元）

純と蛍が私のこども達と同じ年頃だったので２０年前のＴＶ放映の頃から家族揃って観ていました。これで終わるなんてとても寂しいです。
北海道の田舎に住んでいますが冬の厳しさや農業を取り巻く情勢の厳しさ等ドラマの中の出来事が私の身近にも起きています。

「２００２遺言」だけではなく是非最初のＤＶＤから順番に純と蛍の成長と五郎の生き方を見てください。どれもオススメです。そうすると五郎の遺言（倉本聡が言いたかったこと）のメッセージが心に染みることでしょう。
２０年前にはランドセルを背負った小学生だった中島朋子がこのＤＶＤでは自分の子と共演しているなんてすごいことですね。

２０年にも渡るドラマの最終話は、いままでの集大成とも言える
話になっています。五郎さんの残す遺言は、いかにも五郎さん
らしい遺言になっています。その内容は・・・
また、廃棄物を活用して作る家の話や、中畑木材の奥さんの話など
エピソードも盛りだくさんです。十分に堪能してください。

北の国からの最終作のこの「遺言」、シリーズ全て大好きですがこの作品も言葉にならないくらい心にしみます。「考えさせられる」ではなくまさに心で感じる作品だと思います。純くんってすごく「いい男性」になりましたね。。。色々な問題を引き起こしていただけにものすごく感慨あふれました。
