　Jimi　Hendrixは言うまでもなく単にギタリストとしてではなく、サイケ・ロックにブラック・ミュージックのテイストを加えたサウンドや、当時のロック・ギターとしてはぶっ飛びのコード・ヴォイシングなど、その音楽性自体も素晴らしい。
　当然アルバム単位での鑑賞こそがその理解に重要だと思ってしまうが、それが違うのだ。

　このスマッシュ・ヒッツは彼の多彩な音楽性を理解しつつも楽しむのに最適だと思う。長い曲は無いし、録音もそんなによくないけど、でもその情報量には満腹するはず。
