'84年にリリースされた2ndアルバム。

ヴィヴィアン・キャンベルによるソリッドなリフが前面に押し出された正統的なHMで、基本的な音楽性は
前作｢HOLY DIVER｣の延長線上。
永遠のロック･アンセム"We Rock"、劇的な"The Last In Line"、ヴィニー・アピスの手数の多いドラムが
光る"I Speed At Night"と優れた楽曲が並んでいる。

今でもライヴの定番となっている曲も多いし、DIO入門者にはオススメ。

このアルバムでDIOはそのステータスを確固たる物とする。

このアルバムを星5つにしなくてどれをする？
一曲目からキテルね~Am三度で刻むギター、重いベース、ドラムはスネアを連打、、、そして、You watch the faces~我らがロニーだ！！これを聴いて大人も子供もWe Rock！！

その昔、朝の目覚ましに何度かけたことか。。。30過ぎてデジタルリマスターで再び目覚ましにしてしまった。

欲を言うならデジタルリマスターのボーナストラックが欲しかったところ。Rainbow in the darkの12インチシングルのB面のEvil Eyesとか。
