４７歳で脳腫瘍のため波乱万丈の生涯を終えたナラ・レオンの未公開録音等が収められています。テレビ番組やライヴ録音などの貴重な音源からすばらしい歌声を聞くことができますね。「サニー・サイド」というタイトル通り、ナラ・レオンの明るい歌声の魅力が十二分に感じられるアルバムですので、是非お聴きください。

1960年代の音楽シーンを代表する音楽ジャンルが「ボサ・ノヴァ」でした。ただ、「美しきボサ・ノヴァのミューズ」と称えられたナラ・レオンの存在は当時日本では無名だったと思います。

60年代の日本では、セルジオ・メンデスとブラジル66の爆発的な人気に始まり、アストラッド・ジルベルト、ジョアン・ジルベルト、アントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンが有名になり、それらの影に隠れるようにナラ・レオンの存在を後から知りました。

でも、彼女の歌声が一番ステキです。少しけだるいような歌声がまたいいですね。リズムがとても軽やかで、言葉が音符にそのままのっているような歌唱が「ボサ・ノヴァ」そのものだと感じました。ささやくようなつぶやきが独特の雰囲気を醸し出しています。

「ジザフィナード」、「三月の雨」などのボサ・ノヴァの名曲だけでなく、他では聞くことのできない珍しいボサ・ノヴァの数々を収録しています。 どの曲をとってみても軽やかで爽やかです。彼女の魅力を如何なく発揮した曲集だといえましょう。

彼女の訳したポルトガル語で歌われる「ムーンライト・セレナーデ」や最後の収録となった♪この何物にも代えがたい愛をやり直しましょうよ♪と歌う「あの日からサウダージ」を聴きますとその早過ぎる死が惜しまれます。

リーフレットの解説が大変詳しく参考になりました。感謝！感謝！

天気のいい週末のゆっくり朝ごはんにナラの明るくてアップテンポだけど落ち着いたボサノヴァを聞くと「あ~週末だぁ~」と、とろけます。このCDは一曲一曲丁寧な説明や背景が書いてあって、それを頭に入れながら聞くとさらに深みが増します。　ナラのなんともいえないやさしくて透き通った声と歌い方、曲目の選び方は最高だと思います。

まったりしたいときに聞くといい一枚です。疲れてるときなどいつも聞いています。個人的にはクラウディサイドよりこっちの方が好きです。
