この作品の素晴らしさは、他のレビュアーの方々が語り尽くされているとおりでした。
愛を貫くために信仰を守るヒロイン。嫉妬する男。「信仰」と「不倫愛」は決して相容れぬもの。十戒の「汝、姦淫するなかれ」という言葉を思い出しました。一見地味な作品のようですが､名優たちのの名演技で、あっと驚く展開にすっかり感心しました。いろいろな意味を持つ深い作品でした。
あえて、個人的趣味で付け加えさせてもらえば、ジェイソン・アイザックス演じる男について、出番は少ないですが、悪役が多い彼ですから、まさにこの作品でも、悪役の先入観で、その存在感をしっかり確認できました。このキャスティングはとてもよかったです。

不倫の話、恋愛映画と思ってみたら、とんでもありませんでした。
ラスト号泣。
人を愛するということは、いかなる形においてもエゴにとらわれてしまうということを、見事に描いています。
その対極にあるのが、夫のある身でありながらもその友人と不倫関係を続けていくジュリアン・ムーア演じるヒロイン。

実際に不倫という「裏切り」と「エゴイズム」の極地にあるはずの彼女が、実はそのふたつとはまったく違う形の愛をもっていたということがわかるラストシーンには、思わず息をのみました。
映像も美しく、ほかの方も書いておられるように音楽も大変美しいです。
