こんなに情熱的野性的で色気のある演奏をできるピアニストは中々いるものではないと思う、左利きのせいか立体的で聞くものをグリモーの世界に引きずり寄せる。ルプーの渋い演奏が好みだったがこれも素晴らしい！ブラームスが生きてたら彼女を抱きしめてブラボーと言うだろう

ブラームスというと、女性には手がでない作曲家、などとよく言われますが、エレーヌ・グリモ-にはあてはまらないでしょう。この人のブラームスの演奏は絶品！すばらしいロマンチックな感性と、力強いテクニックでこのCDに録音されている曲集を見事に弾いています。この人の演奏は、幻想的であり、また深い人間性を感じさせられるものです。決して華やかにテクニックを見せびらかすのではなく、まさにブラームスの音楽を心から愛しているという事が感じられる演奏です。ブラームスを聞いたことのない方、またこの後期の曲集を聞き比べたいと思う方もぜひ手にいれるべきCDです！

ブラームスを形容する際よく使われる、「重厚かつ甘美」ということばは、
演奏するうえでの難しさにも反映する。

ゆっくり深い響きにどっぷりとつかってしまえば重苦しくなってしまい、
かといって、あっさり弾いてしまえば、ブラームスの深い精神性が表現できず
台無しである。

グリモーの演奏は、そのことをよくわかっているのだと感じさせる。
ここに演奏されるブラームス後期の小品は、余計な音を一切そぎ落とした上で、
簡潔かつ深遠な世界を提示してくれるものだが、であるがゆえに、演奏は
困難を極める。一つ一つの音を大事にしないといけないからといって、躊躇して
いる暇はない。
彼女の演奏はそういう意味で、うまくいっているといえるだろう。

そして、何よりもすばらしいのは、渋面のブラームスの前向きな気持ち
を感じとっていることである。ブラームスは、ある意味で現実主義的であり、
現実を見る透徹した洞察力を持つがゆえに、きちんと前を向いて進んでいく
目線の高さを我々に教えてくれるのだ。

そのことをきちんと感じ取らせてくれる演奏なのだから、やはりすばらしい。
