私がクリストファー・クロスを耳にしたのは、中学生の頃...
カセットテープに録音して聴いたのを覚えています。CDが普及して　”彼の澄んだ高い歌声”　がよりクリアーに聴かれるようになりましたね。

このアルバムは彼の究極のベストアルバムです！ AORファンは是非、購入してください

夏の早朝や秋のドライブに窓を全開にして聴きたくなるような曲ばかりです。
このアルバムがいいな〜と思った人は入手困難になりましたが、彼の個々のアルバムを購入することをお薦めします。彼のアルバムは完成度が高いので個々のアルバムを通して聴くともっと彼の楽曲の良さが出てきます。そして、何でこの曲が"THE DEFINITIVE CHRISTOPHER CROSS"に収録されてないんだろうと発見があると思います。

そーいえば
"A Dream Of Peace"
"The Best Christmas"
という曲がiTunes Music Storeで聞くことが出来ます。
彼の澄んだハイトーンヴォイスがいきた、最高に美しい曲でした。
新しいクリスマスソングですね。

　クリストファー・クロスの名曲の数々が収められたベスト盤。あまりにも優しい歌声とメロディ・・・何より１曲１曲にドラマが感じられる彼の歌の魅力は今も全く変わらない。「セイリング」を初めて聴いた
時は泣いてしまいそうになったり、「アイ・ウィル」が収められているアルバム「バック・オブ・マイ・マインド」にどっぷりはまってしまい、一日何回も何回も聴いていたことなどが懐かしい。ＡＯＲというジャンルに出会ったのもこの人のおかげだった。「ニューヨーク・シティ・セレナーデ」はあまりにも有名な名曲で、映画「ミスター・アーサー」の主題歌。デビューアルバムに続いて、数々の賞を受けた。今も現役で活動しているはずだが、そろそろ新作も発表してほしいところ。
