今まで最新作も含め何作かの『レ・ミゼラブル』作品を見てきましたが、やはりジャン・ギャバン主演のこの作品が最高。全員が主人公になりうるこの長い作品の魅力を、ヴァルジャンのみに焦点を当てるのではなく、その時代・時間を懸命に生き抜く名も無き人々をも生き生きと描き出している。ミュージカルを見て、映画にガッカリした人にこそ見てほしい。もちろん、『銀の燭台』のみでしかヴァルジャンを知らない人にも。
こんな時代だからこそ、見るべき作品です。明日に向かって生きていく勇気と力、そして誰かを愛することの尊さに気付かされます。

先のレビュワーさんと同じく、他のものを観てきましたが
ジャン･ギャバン主演の本作品が一番心に残りました。
長い作品ですが映像がすべて浮かんでくるくらいです。

当時のフランスが鮮明に描かれていますね
たとえばラマルク将軍の葬儀時の決起するアンジョラスと同士たち
あのシーンはドラクロワの絵を彷彿とさせます。

消え行く命のバルジャンの喜びと哀しみ
ラストシーンでのバルジャン、コゼット、マリウスのシーン
また全体的にＢＧＭとっても良くこれは私の保存版です。
