   1996年にセガサターン用ゲームとして発売され、以後OVA、TVシリーズと各メディアで展開されたスチームパンクアクションSF美少女アニメの劇場版。
   文明開化より数十年、架空の時代「太正」の帝都東京。西洋文化と日本文化が入り混じったモダンで高度な文明社会が築きあげられている世界であるが、同時にそこは怪物や呪術も存在している幻想的な場所でもあった。そんな世界を舞台に、表の顔は大帝国劇場のスター帝国歌劇団として活動し、その実帝都を守るべく結成された帝国華撃団の活躍を描く。本作では、歌劇団以外にも帝都を守る組織が存在しても構わないという上層部の思惑が大きな陰謀に絡む、劇場版ならではの自己言及的かつスケールの大きな物語が展開。もちろんレギュラーキャラクター総登場で、ファンのツボもばっちり押さえてある。（田中　元）

このアニメはすごいです！！
音楽、舞台と戦闘シーンごれぞサクラ大戦！
冒頭での『奇蹟の鐘』の舞台シーンは、映像の見事さとあいまって正直震えました。戦闘シーンは今までサクラ大戦アニメで、しっかりと描かれたことがない中、すごい迫力で圧倒させられました。
そしてもう１つの見所は、新隊員のラチェットです。
彼女が花組の隊員として過ごす中での、心の葛藤の答えをラストシーンの『海神別荘』での舞台を通して演じます。そこでの「歌『すべては海へ』も大変すばらしいです。
もう何度でも見ています。マジでおススメします。
見るたび素晴らしさがましますね。

２Ｄと３Ｄが組み合わされたアニメ。特に弾丸列車轟雷号の発車シーンはすごい！　ストーリーがとても良いです。みる価値アリ

私は、このアニメをレンタルでしか見てないけれど、すばらしいの一言です。ぜひもう一度買ってじっくり見て見たいと思います。
