黄飛鴻片に限らず、総じてアクション映画はアクションシーンが売りであるはずです。にもかかわらずこの作品は一番大事なアクションシーンの見応えを映像技術で完全に殺してしまってます。そこまでして監督が表現したかった悪役の首領である鏡花和尚の苦悩や葛藤、黄飛鴻との奇妙な連帯感など二人の心象の織りなすストーリー展開には正直言って賛同できません。そんなのこの作品を観る人には関係ないことです。もっとダイナミックなアクションシーンだ観たかった。現実にアクションはやっているのですが恣意的に観られなくしているのは大変残念。黄飛鴻迷の立場から言わせてもらうと、作品中でこれまで天下無敵・完全人格のはずだった黄飛鴻師傳がオヤジの黄麒英に困り果てた挙げ句、泣きつくシーンがありました。歴史的な汚点です。しかし、このシーンを観るだけでもある意味、買う価値はありますよ。是非購入して見ましょう。
