ジャケットはいかめしいしタイトルもストレートだが、メロディック・パンクやヘヴィ・メタルもやっちゃうハードなギター・ロックと言えそうで、ほとんどの詞は英語で歌われる。荒いのはある意味で良しだが、音の旨みとヴォーカルのリズム感がもっと欲しい。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

オフスプリングか、はたまたグリーン・デイか。ここのところ日本語詞による聴かせるナンバーが多かった彼らだが、このアルバムは一転、英詞のUSメロコア・ナンバーがあふれまくっている。メロディの端々に、前述したバンドを彷佛とさせるようなフレーズがいくつもミックスされているのだ。ここまで勢いのいいアルバムは、今までなかったんじゃないかと思うほど、今回の彼らは弾けている。なかでもカヴァー曲「CONGA」は必聴。こんなPENPALSもありなのね、と驚くに違いない。さらに、ドラム上条欽也の曲も収録。これは貴重! (江藤麻由) --- 2002年11月号

5.0 out of 5 stars 無敵感が疾走するアルバム, 2002/11/20
先行シングルは日本語の歌詞で唄われていたが、それ以外は全て英語詞による今回のアルバム。でもそんなことはどうでもいい。
アルバム全体を包む轟音のようなグルーブ、疾走感、無敵感。これがこのアルバムの絶対無二の魅力であり全てだ。
イノセントな悲しみや哀愁は、あえて今回口にしなかったのだと思う。
個人的な感想としては「past last summer」と肩を並べる傑作だ。「past...」は、日本語がどこまでロックするかを模索し、その中で切なさやピュアさ、やさしさを唄った。今作は「俺達がここまでロックした！」という清々しい勇ましさが感じられる。決して荒くれロックではない。
3人のパワーがきちんと揃い整って、ひとつになって自由に一直線に放たれる感じだ。

『PENPALS』の久々のNEWアルバム！！ペンパルズらしいROCKな曲ばっかり☆
聞いてるだけで、元気になれるCD♪

全体的に英語詞が多く、オルタナ的なサウンドは2nd｢Amerikaman｣に近いものを感じる。しかし、今回のアルバムはとにかく「強さ」と「前のめり」感が溢れている。「イノセントなロックなどもう沢山だ」といわんばかりの激しさと強さと元気さ。80年代ロックのもつ輝きを受け継いで、さらに昇華した一枚となっている。

毎回強度の増したアルバムを放っている彼らだが、今回はちょっとケタ外れだ。
