ＤＶＤを手に取るまでこの映画の存在をしりませんでした。一つ一つのシーンが非常に細やかで美しい映画です。八幡堀での燈篭流しのシーンが特にお気にいりのシーンです。

日本の映画ももっとこういう日本独特の感性という武器があるのですから盲目的にハリウッド的なものをつくるより、長所を活かす作品をつくってほしいと思いました。

最後のシーンはシックスセンスよりある意味吃驚しましたよ。「そういえばそうだ」みたいな感じです。

日本人だけではなく、他の国の方にも見て欲しい作品です。

東映の方から伺ったのですが、社内の方々の中ではかなり評判の良い映画だそうです。
実際、綺麗で悲しくて、切なくて、日本人の心に響く情緒と、外国人の方にも喜ばれるであろう美しい景色や風物がふんだんに取り込まれていました。
ヨーロッパの友人が日本に来たときに薦めたところ、美しい映像と独特のテンポを大変気に入ってくれました。
他国にご友人がいるかたでオススメの映画を聞かれた際には是非薦めて見てはいかがでしょうか？
自分が日本人だなという帰属意識を感じ、日本があらためて好きになる一作でした。

椎名桔平さんのファンとして見始めた映画ですが、主人公と周囲の人達の生き方のぶきようさと、次々とほどこされる美しい化粧が、まるで対比のようで素敵！！最後まで魅入ってしまいました。
化粧はもちろん美しいのですが、なによりも登場する人間の在り方があざやかで素晴らしい、良い映画だとお薦めします。
