　この手のオムニバスの良い所は、既に歌手活動を引退してしまった人の作品が、ひょっこり復活したりするところである。今回は、ビリー・ヒューズ(Billie Hughes)の「とどかぬ想い(Welcome To The Edge)」がそれに当たる。アメリカでもTVテーマを作曲し、歌っていた彼だが、向こうではドラマ主題歌の地位が低いため、ソロCDは日本で出たあの1作しかない（バンド時代は2作あるが）。既にシングルもアルバムも廃盤。1作だけあるコンピはCCCDになってしまったので、通常CDでの初復活は密かに嬉しい。

　悲しみは雪のように／浜田省吾、PRIDE／今井美樹、There will be love there／the brilliant green 等が収録されているから、内容は悪くない。ただ、決定的に目玉となる曲がないのが問題かなぁ。もっとも木曜はバラエティ優勢で、ヒットドラマは元々少ない。あっても、刑事モノや病院モノが多く、主題歌が売れない曜日なのだ。

　Sonyが音頭を取ったのに欠けているなぁ、と思ったのが、「P.S. 元気です、俊平」の主題歌 Hysteric Blueの「なぜ…」 だが、メンバーがその後、重大事件を起こしたからだろうなぁ。

自分の期待には、到達しないＣＤだと思いました。
聴いていて、あまり良い歌がないからです。
歌の好みは人それぞれですが、ちょっと納得いきませんでした。
完全に否定できるＣＤでもありません。
ある程度良い歌も収録されているので、
「輝け!ドラマ王 90’s」シリーズのファンや、木曜ドラマの主題化が好きな方は、
買ってみても良いと思います。

これらの曲は、ドラマの終わりとともに、いったん本が閉じられた、と考えるべき。曲はドラマを利用し、ドラマのイメージが曲でかなり固定された、タイアップ。数年して回想するにしても、いい思い出もある、逆のもある。聞き手に選択権は当然あり、好きならドラマのとき入手、なりしていたはずです。
