この映画は雰囲気あります。アル中の２人ミッキー・ロークとフェイ・ダナウェイがずーっと酒飲んで酔っ払ってるんですけどね・・・面白いんですよ。なかなか作れないんじゃないかな、こんな映画。

ミッキー・ロークのダメ男ぶりが良かった。

小汚いし、臭そうだし、刹那的なんだけど、
時折、とても心に引っ掛かる言葉を残す。

そのギャップが興味深く、飽きずに観れた。

酒に飲まれて、どうしようもないんだけど、
それもまた幸せかと思わされてしまう。

あの二人、死ぬまで飲み続けるんだろうな。
なにか起こる訳ではないけど、面白い映画でした。

とはいえ、ほんとに手放さないかどうかは別の話。

さて、主人公の役名が「ヘンリー・チナスキー」であることからも分かる通り、ブコウスキーの自伝的映画。彼の小説では触れられることのなかった、バーでの飲んだくれ時代のことがかなりユーモラスに描かれている。ファンなら必見の映画だといえるだろう。

他のレビューでは「笑えない」と書いてあったが、僕は終始爆笑でした。ミッキー・ロークが血をダラダラ流しながら笑ってる顔とか、とにかく最高。フェイ・ダナウェイの年増っぽさもすごくツボに入ってしまうし、隣の夫婦とのいさかいのシーンとかは、涙出るほど笑える。「よくぞまあここまで」と思ってしまうほど、小説と同じブコウスキー・ワールドに仕上がっているように思える。とはいえ、いつも爆笑しながら観ているのではなく、しんみり観るときもあれば、じっくりと感じ入ってしまうときもある。どういう見方をしても、優れた映画だと思えてしまうのは、決して僕がブコウスキー・ファンだからではないはず。

バーのシーンでこっそりブコウスキー本人が出演しているのもいいですね！

せいぜい一週間に満たない期間を取り扱った映画ですが一ヶ月位の長さに感じるのはなぜかはわかりませんが、きっとそれがブコウスキーの世界なのかもしれません。
