   1970年代前半に日本でも絶大な人気を誇ったフレンチ・ポップ界のカルト・スター、ミッシェル・ポルナレフの初期音源（1966~72年）で構成された日本編纂のベスト盤。選曲に関してはミッシェル本人の了解を取ったうえで最終決定されたそう。ヒット曲でも未収録なものがあるのはそのためとか。つまり、ミッシェル自身が21世紀の現在に聴いても納得できる曲ばかりが厳選されているというわけだ。

   2000年以降、TVのCM等に使われ復活した永遠の名曲「シェリーに口づけ」を筆頭に、そのずば抜けたメロディ・センスやポップスとしての構築力の素晴らしさは、いつ聴いても新鮮そのもの。ミッシェル・ポルナレフ入門用にもオススメしたい。（木村ユタカ）

小学校6年生の時初めてお小遣いで買ったアルバムと記憶しています。田舎のレコード店で買ったのですが、「ミッシェル　ポルナレフを・・」といった私に、店番のおばあちゃんが出してくれたのがこのアルバムでした。当時深夜ラジオを聴いていたような、おませな子たちは,「シェリーに口づけ」をくちずさんでいたりして、音楽のことをよくしらない私もとても惹かれました。ポルナレフの曲は、とてもふしぎな感じ、行った事の無いフランスに思いを馳せる特別な記憶として今でも残っています。そのときのアルバムは、友達に貸したきり、私が転校してしまうという事になりましたが、それから30年たった今、また手元に置いて聴きたいアルバムNO.１です。

私は彼の曲を生で聴いた世代ではないのですが、とっても新鮮です。フランス語なんて全く分からなかったけど、やってみたいと思わせるものがあります。とにかく素晴らしい！心が癒されるメロディもあれば、エキサイティングなものまでそろってます。お薦めです。会社でクリスマスプレゼントの交換をするのですが、これを出品しようと思います。

「シェリーに口づけ」をはじめとして、「ノン・ノン人形」、「愛の休日」、「君との愛がすべて」、等々といったミシェル・ポルナレフの名曲の数々が揃ってますヨ。
　平成生まれの若い世代の人たちも、この音盤を聞けば、ポルナレフの歌が大好きになることでしょう。
