前作、次作と名盤に挟まれているせいか、どうしても地味な印象を受けるこのアルバムですが、このアルバム独特の味は捨てがたい魅力があります。それは前作と次作の中間のような雰囲気を持つ曲ではないでしょうか。例えば大作「瞳の中の愛」では次作以降顕著になるポップ化が見受けられますが、同様にこの曲には前作までにも顕著だったジャズロック志向もあり、二つの要素が見事に溶けあった名曲と言えるでしょう。彼らがソフツの兄弟バンドであることがよくわかる「Nothing At All」やスティーブ・ミラー、ゲストの管楽器奏者が活躍する表題曲など聴き所満載です。
「グレイとピンクの地」、「夜ごと太る〜」を聴いた方は是非手に取ってもらいたいアルバムです。

4.0 out of 5 stars メンバー一部交代の新生キャラバン「1973年」のアルバム, 2003/8/21
　ヴォーカルはリチャード・シンクレアがおりますが、ヘイスティングスのヴォーカルの曲が大半を占めております。初期と中期の間のようなサウンドですが、キャラバンらしいアルバムです。
　ですが、メンバー的にはキーボードのデイブ・シンクレアの脱退があったり、そういった意味では微妙な作品だったのかな・・・？

　短めの曲はとても軽快で、10分以上の大作ではじっくりと聴かせてくれる、キャラバンならではの作品です。

一つの完成形となった前作『グレイとピンクの地』で圧倒的な演出力を誇ったデイヴ・シンク
レアが抜けた1972年リリース作。
あの何とも形容のできない柔和且つうねるシンクレアのオルガンがなくなったことで本作では
ある種の極上感は消えてしまったが、すべてがマイナスに働いたかというと...?答えはNO。

何故ならそれによって各自の音の輪郭がより鮮明になったのと必要以上にオルガンソロに固執
しなくなったからだ（後者の方は好みは分かれますけどね、、実際僕もデイヴ信者な者で）。
その事実を如実に反映してるのが10分に及ぶインストナンバーの「Nothing at All」です。
この曲実にブルージーな感覚を持った独自のジャズ・ロックに仕上がっていて派手なパフォー
マンスはない代わりに各々の演奏者の良さがしっかり引き立っていてその相互作用により
聴き手にもしっかりとした充足感を与えてくれます。特にラスト三分間の盛り上げ方がいいん
ですよ!

ありていに言えば前作の唯一無二感もなく次作のような大掛かりな仕掛けもない総じて地味な
印象を拭えない作品である事は確かだが、ただそれでもCaravan!!一枚を通して〈安心感〉が
あります。
