ここのところ元気なスパニッシュ・ホラーの佳作。
原作はラムジー・キャンベルだが、私は原作そのものは読んだことは無い。
ただ、彼の作品に見られる「なにかが微妙に狂っている落ち着かなさ」
「じわじわと追い詰めれているような怖さ」が上手く出た映画だと思う。
ところどころに挿入されるノイズ、真昼のシーンでも暗い（緑がかった光）

映像、主人公の周りに見え隠れするカルト集団、そしてラストのどんでん返し
などなど、雰囲気はとてもよい。「エンゼル・ハート」が好きな人なら、
この映画も楽しめるかもしれない。
ただし、後味は悪いので、ハッピーエンドを期待する向きにはオススメしない。

褪めたブルーの画面に、ところどころで挿入される不気味な映像と
効果音等、なかなかひきこまれるし、カルト教団と教祖のくだりも
面白いのだが、どんでん返しをねらったラストが、未消化気味だし、
黒幕登場も、こいつ誰？っていう感じ。惜しいね。

サイコホラーという触れ込みだが、内容的にはカルト教団の謎を追う追跡サスペンスで、糸を手繰っていくという楽しみ方になると思う。前半は、映像で見せてくれる、冷たい色調と残虐シーンの短いカットが効果的。
ラストは、無理にどんでん返しを狙ってちょっとはずしている感が否めない。
