これは文句なしの最高傑作です！！

南ロンドン出身の三人組の1stアルバム。
ゴリゴリのベースに抜けの良いドラム、金属質の鋭利で硬派なギター！レコーディング担当があのスティーブ・アルビニだというのでそれも納得。個人的には数あるアルビニの仕事の中で１、２を争うほどの出来だと思います。

もちろん、それも彼らの実力があってこそ。ハードでジャンキーなサウンドを基調にしながらも、ドラムのリズムや吹き荒れるサックスがジャズの影響も感じさせてくれます。凄まじい爆発力を持つアグレッシブな曲や、カオティックな曲、さらにはアコースティックギターにストリングスを導入している牧歌的な曲もあり、彼らのセンスが最大限に引き出されたまさに傑作だと思います！ライブが見てみたいなあ。
アルビニのバンドSHELLACや、GANG OF FOURなどの鋭い音が好きな方は間違いなく買いの一枚ですよ！

南ロンドン出身の3人組、最強のデビュー・アルバムである。

レコーディング担当は、ビッグ・ブラック、レイプマン、シェラックなどで活動し、80年代USアンダーグラウンドの最重要人物にして今やジミー・ペイジの作品までも手掛けるようになった我等がスティーヴ・アルビニ。

基本は大変解り易いロックなのである。しかし、テンションのレヴェルが桁違いだ。ノイズ・ギターは狂錯乱状態で暴走し、パーカッションも破裂音乱れ打ち。殺人カーで雄叫びを上げながらぼやぼやした連中を片っ端から轢き殺すためのデスレース・ミュージックでありながら実に抑制的な音で、インナーに収められたシャレが通じなさそうなメンバーの面構えそのままである。ジャズ的な展開もある。比較的静かなアコースティック・ナンバーも、大量に血液が入った風船を針でつつくような感覚があり、とても安心していられない。

数あるアルビニ工場長の仕事の中でもトップクラスに入るくらいの激烈さで、物騒な音楽が好きで好きでたまらない方々には買わない理由は何処にも見当たらないアルバムである。でも一体どこが「Make it pop」なのかは謎。

すぐ目の前の空間でプレイされているような聴覚現象。ジャジーなパンクで隙間だらけのミックスにGuitarはRAPEMANか。綺麗にぐちゃぐちゃなサウンド。サビではGu,Ba,Dr,Voが強引に無茶苦茶な統一感を出していて（サビとかあるのかな？）、こんな事されるとサーストン・ムーアもお手上げかな。でも一番驚くのはMUMと同レーベルってことだったりして。
