   祖母の経営するコイン・ランドリーで、洗濯物が盗まれないようにいつも監視していたテル（窪塚洋介）は、ある日乾燥機の中にワンピースを置き忘れたまま田舎に帰ってしまった女性・水絵（小雪）を追いかけていく。やがてふたりは、ひょんなことから知り合った中年男サリー（内藤剛志）の下でハトを飛ばす仕事に従事するようになるが…。
   森淳一によるサンダンス・NHK国際映像作家賞受賞脚本を、自らのメガホンで映画化。小さいころマンホールに落ちたという設定こそあるが、そうした要素すら超えたピュアな青年を窪塚が好演。そんな彼に、いつしか見失っていた安らぎを見い出し癒されていくヒロイン・小雪の美しさも実に映画的だ。生きていく上で次第に汚れていく心を洗濯し、平和の象徴ハトを飛ばす映画。ヒロインの万引き癖を利用してのドラマ構成も、実に巧みで哀しいテイストを醸し出している。（的田也寸志）

LaundryのHPを見ると主人公テルを演じた窪塚洋介さんは自分と一番遠い役立ったと語っています。でも私は純粋なテルを演じるのは「ばあさん」の編んでくれた毛糸のとんがり帽子に大きな目の窪塚さんでとてもよかったです。
テルはもちろん水絵（小雪）サリー（内藤剛志）そしてテルが目を光らせるコインランドリーのお客さんたちすべてが調和となって心地よく心に響きます。　私はこの「Laundry」とういう映画はとても上質の音楽のように感じました。見終わった後ずーっと私の心を放しません。いまだに「Laundry」に魅了され続けています。

久しぶりに、こんなに泣いた。
泣いて泣いて、どうしようもなかった。
人を疑うことを知らない、信じることしか知らないテル。
変わりたいのに、結局変われない、過去の傷に縛られたままの水絵。
一見ぶっきらぼうだけど、自分に忠実に、自由に生きているサリー。
三者三様の優しさ、あたたかさが、疲れた時、傷ついた時、私を包んでくれた。

「人を信じるって、人のあたたかさに触れるって、いいよね。」
この映画にそう言われてる気がして、どうにもたまらなくて、泣けた。

疲れた時、傷ついた時、どうしようもなく悲しい時、この映画を観てほしい。
泣くだけ泣いてグシャグシャになった後、それでも人を信じるっていいよね、と思えたら、またそこから歩き出せるから。

窪塚洋介は、こんな演技もできるんだなと感動した作品。
盛り上がりは特に無い。壮大なラブストーリーでもない。ただひたすら、歩くような速さでストーリーは進んで行く。
コインランドリーで、下着が盗まれないように見張る仕事をしているテルと、過去の心の傷から万引き癖がある水絵の関係。果たして恋人と呼べるのか、それはわからない。しかし、そこには地球では「愛」と呼ぶものが存在していた。
水絵が捕まり、テルが1人で帰るシーンでは、テルが泣くのと一緒に、蹲って泣いてしまった。
テルの語りが更に、切なさを倍増させた。何で泣けたのかは、いまいちよくわからない。
盛り上がりは特に無い。壮大なラブストーリーでもない。ただひたすら、歩くような速さでストーリーは進んで行く。
それでもただ泣いた。

最初から最後まで、人より知能が遅れているテルが喋るひとつひとつの言葉が、いちいち胸に響いてどうしようもなかった。
俳優業を辞めるとうわさの立っている窪塚洋介だが、彼の演技をもっと見たいと思った。


「愛だよ。こうゆうのは地球では愛って言うんだ。宇宙じゃ知らないけどね」
