「Intergalactic Sonic 7"s」に収録されている過去のシングル曲については過去のアルバムレビューで触れてきたのでここでは新曲Envyについてレビュー。
Envyは切れのあるベースラインからイントロがはじまりテンポやメロディは伝統的なAsh節全開である。
一点の曇りも無い晴れやかな曲の構成である。

次にBトラック集「Cosmic Debris」だが、AshのBトラックはかなり聞ける曲が多い。
アルバム収録曲ほど力みがないのが逆にいい感じ。
メロディックな曲はシンプルにメロディ重視だし、ロックな曲はシンプルにロックを楽しんでいる。
Bトラックに名曲が多いバンドは本物だよね。

Bトラック集で大好きな曲↓
イントロ付近のコード進行はWEEZER的だが、甘酸っぱいメロディが満載の「No Place To Hide」
はじめて聞いた時にBトラック扱いなのが信じられなかった名バラード「Stormy Waters」
名曲Shining Lightを少し和らげたようなポップソング「Stay In Love Forever」
Ash節全開の「The Sweetness Of Death By The Obsidian Knife」
サビが好きな「Halloween」

デビューが１０年前だけど、まだ２５歳の彼ら。とにかくティムのソングライティング力はデビュー時からすごい。曲はキャッチーでありまたティムの声がいい！私は彼らの音を聴くたびに心洗われ、元気になれる。このアルバムはベストというだけあって、ASHのなかでも特に傑作を集めたもの。今までASHを聞いたことなかった人にはかなりお勧め。絶対にハマリマス！！このCDは２枚組になっていて、２枚目にはASHのB-SIDE集となっていますが、十分A面にもなる曲ばかりでコレは本当に驚き。アルバムしかもってなかったASHファンにも是非お勧めしたい。とにかく、聴くべし！
