5.0 out of 5 stars 最初は地味な印象も、聴けば聴くほど染みわたるハーモニー, 2002/10/19
私としては２作目の「Fly」の延長上を期待して買ったのだが、最初の印象は
「前２作に比べて随分と大人しく、スローな曲の多い、やや単調な感じの
アルバム」というもので、必ずしも良いものではなかった。
しかし、聴き込むにつれて美しくシンプルなサウンドが心地よくなってくる。
歌詞を味わいながら「出征する兵士の歌」を聴くと、そのストーリーに涙。

「More Love」の美しさとボーカルの切なさ。聴けば聴くほど好きになって
くる、そんな不思議なアルバム。アコースティック中心のカントリーサウンド
が好きな方におすすめ。

アルバム売りまくりの彼女達は、もともと、ヒルやシャナイアにくらべてカントリー色の強い曲を出してきた。
だが今作は、もう、もろカントリー。ドラムではなくてウッドベースで拍子
をとり、ギターやバンジョーをかき鳴らし、フィドルを弾きまくる。
ポップ/ロックっぽいところはほとんどない。

アコースティックなサウンドばかりで、手のこんだＲ＆Ｂやポップ
に比べると非常に素朴で、新鮮だ。聴いていると、今が２０００年代だと
いうことさえ忘れさせてくれる。アメリカ開拓時代の丸太の家にでもいる
ような、そんな良い意味での「古さ」がある。古きよきアメリカ、なんていう

言葉がしっくりくるようなゆったりしたサウンドだ。踊れるタイプの?もある
が。
グラミーでもベスト・カントリー・アルバム、ベスト・カントリー・
インストゥルメンタル・パフォーマンス、ベスト・カントリー・パフォーマン
スby a Duo or Group with Vocalを受賞している
