西岡たかしを中心とするフォーク・グループで、解散直前に出した2枚組ベスト・アルバム。5作品から代表曲をセレクトしている。叙情的な歌詞と見事なコーラス・ワークで、PPMに通じるようなポップなモダン・フォークが基本なのだが、早くから実験的なサウンド指向を示していた。ヴィブラフォンやフルートをふんだんに取り入れ、代表曲「遠い世界に」からしてオートハープの響きが印象的だし、「おとぎばなしを聞きたいの」「私は地の果てまで」などは今で言う音響系のような空間的な音作りだ。特に2枚目は、サイケデリックともいえる幻想的な音像の曲が多い。メルヘンチックな歌のイメージが強いが、非凡な音作りのセンスもあわせもったグループだった。（小山 守）
