スウェーデンの奥深さを感じさせるメロディックロックの隠れた達人、Mikael Erlandsonのベスト盤。メロディックかつ重厚なアレンジでメロディックファンの心を鷲掴みにした１stアルバムと一転シンプルなアレンジで温かいメロディーを聴かせた２ndからの楽曲を中心に、これまでに発表した３枚のアルバムからの楽曲１７曲プラス未発表曲２曲を収録した豪華なベスト盤となっています。ただ、ファンの興味をそそるであろう未発表曲２曲は３ｒｄアルバムのアウトテイクらしく、既発の楽曲ほどの魅力はないですが、それぞれのアルバムは現在入手困難のため、彼のアルバムを聴いたことのないメロディックファンや、アルバムを揃えていないファンの方々には是非、聴いていただきたいCDです。心が癒されること間違いなしです。

デビュー作以降、一貫したメロディックロックを放ち続ける、ミカエルのベスト盤。重厚なメロディックロックの真髄を感じる事が出来る。上っ面だけの軽軽しいロックにお嘆きのあなたに、是非聴いて頂きたい1枚です。

このベストは選曲がすばらしい。
多くのベスト版はファンの求めるベストとかけはなれてる
ものが多い中、このアルバムはファンが求めてる曲ばかり
入っている、その点にまず拍手である。

１〜３ｒｄからの選曲だが完璧に近い。
全アルバムを持っているのだが、
ミカエル”らしい”魅力ある曲はほぼ網羅している。
１つだけ惜しいのが、２ｎｄの「トゥデイ」が
入っていないことである。１８・１９曲目はＣＵＴして
「トゥデイ」が入っていれば、まさに完璧のベストである。

選曲から漏れた曲も全部聴いたが、ミカエルらしい曲で
すばらしい曲と言えるのは「トゥデイ」以外にないので、
このアルバムを聴いて、１〜３ｒｄで
「他の曲もこんなに哀愁あり叙情的なのか」と思ってる人は
少し期待が外れると思うので、このアルバムのみで良いでしょう。
１〜３ｒｄの他の曲は、
モダンな曲が多く哀愁や叙情性があまりないんです。
ミカエルらしさを満喫するなら、このベストで十分です。
もちろん他の曲が悪いって意味ではないのであしからず。

１〜３ｒｄのどれかを買おうと思っているなら、
４ｔｈの”ザ・ギフト”をオススメします。
哀愁や叙情性よりもＰＯＰ性が強いが最高のアルバムです♪
このベストと４ｔｈは本当にマスターピースです☆
ミカエルの才能がこれでもかと詰まってますので。

しかしこのベストを聴いてみて思うのは、
よくこんなに美しく切ない曲を作れるな〜っということ。
天才ソングライターと言われるのは当然ですね。
個人的には２ｎｄからのトラックが好きですね。
１０曲目にはやられました。
そして１７曲目のバラードの名曲”Ｔｈｅ１”
ＬＡＤバージョンを先に聴いていたので
原曲がこんな感じだったのかと思うとそれも新鮮です。
どんなアレンジだろうと、やっぱり名曲は名曲だわ。
