オルガン曲というのは演奏者も大事ですが、ピアノ以上にどんなオルガンを弾いているかということがとても大事です。オルガンによって音色が全然違うからです。このＣＤのパイプオルガンは宗教的な音色ではあまりなく、オカリナっぽいとでも言いましょうか、柔らかい音がします。この辺はかなり好みに関わる部分だと思います。買う前にできることなら視聴することをお勧めします。いろんなオルガンの音色を聞いてみた上でこれだと思う一枚を買ってみてください。ちょっと大きめのＣＤショップならどこでも視聴できる時代ですから。
このＣＤにはバッハのオルガン曲の中でも有名で親しみやすいものが上手く抑えられていて良い思います。お勧めです。

イギリスの名手「プレストン」によるＪＳバッハの名曲
を集めたベストセレクション。同社のＣＤカタログや特
別なウェブサイトのＵＲＬ等を収録したCDExtraデータ
（再生にはパソコン要）も収録し、お買い
得。

収録曲の中でも、１・２曲目のトッカータとフーガニ短
調BWV565や１５曲目のフーガ ト短調BWV578「小フーガ」
はあまりにも有名。
鮮烈な高域と重厚な低域を奏でるオルガンの音色に圧倒
される。

録音音質は、オーディオ試聴用としても活用出来る程、
品質は高い。オルガンの音域や残響音までしっかりと
聴きとることが出来る。
小型のシステムであると、音場の広さを表現すること
が少々難しいかもしれない。中~大型のシステムの方
が、より躍動する再生音を再現出来るだろう。

オルガンというと大抵の人は「荘厳」と一つ言葉で語ってしまう
プレストンのオルガンは全く違う「澄んで、そして輝く」
今までのオルガンのイメージを一新し重くて暗い印象どころか華やか、その溢れる音が光となり脳髄にそのまま刺さる様は想像を超えた快感である。

バッハの良い処は「じゃまにならない」であるが、プレストンの作り出す音はさらに脳が活性化される感じで考え事のじゃまどころか思考が走り出す。

お勧めはなんといっても≪聖アンのフーガ≫であろうか
有名であるが「名曲集」に入れている人はあまりない
もうすこし評価が高くても良い曲だと思うのだが
たとえばサットマリーだと軽すぎるしハーフォードだと重すぎる
他の奏者の演奏と比べて、プレストンの方が希有なのかもしれない
