エア・サプライは少し忘れかけられていたかもしれない、
ＡＯＬ全盛期はもう２０年前の話、
でも、最近シーンにカムバックした、多分ＦＩＮＥの影響だろう。
２０年前の曲が今のリスナーの中で聞き入られたのである。
それは何故かというと、
僕はエア・サプライほど爽やかさに徹したものは他にいないと、
思うからである、５曲のＮｏ１を筆頭に、

ＦＩＮＥに収録された「渚の誓い」「オール・アウト・オブ・ラヴ」
いずれも、グラハムのペパーミントサウンドとまで言われた、
爽やかさは全ての曲に健在であり、正に、「青空」「青い海」
などの淡い青が良く似合うサウンドに仕上がっている。
筆舌の間接表現でこのペパーミントサウンドを表現するのは難しい、

しかし、少しはイメージ!が伝わっただろうか、
熱弁になったが、最後に欠点というと、
ほとんどの曲が、特徴に基づいているので、似ているのだ、
だから、どれがどんな曲だっけ？？と、思い返せないのである。
何度も聴いてると分かるようにはなるけど。
僕的には絶対お勧め夕焼けにも良く似合います。

あと、歌詞の内容が単調だと思う方もいるかもしれませんね。

２０年前の思い出話で恐縮ですが、当時遠距離恋愛でこの曲を（当時ＬＰ盤からテープにダビング）聴きながら北海道から鳥取の彼女の所に逢いにオートバイで日本海を走りながらテープが擦り切れる程、聴いた思い出の曲ばかりです。海で聴くには最高のアルバムです。この透き通った声を聴けば一生忘れることはない位良い曲ばかりです。良い曲は何年経っても色あせずに思い出と一緒に行き続けることでしょう。このアルバムに出逢え事は光栄だと思います。是非皆さん、ＡＩＲ　ＳＵＰＰＲＹを聴いて下さい。素晴らしいの一言であると思いますよ！

あまりベスト盤を音楽的にコメントしても仕方がないです。ひとつの作品としては、所詮「つぎはぎ」でしかありませんから。
収録曲各々についても、私達のようにリアルタイムでAir Supplyを聴いていた者は、既にほぼ全曲知った上で買うわけですしね。

などと云いつつ買ってしまいました。「LOST IN LOVE」のメロディーが突然とりついたせいです。

まだ、Air Supplyを知らない方々には、「オーストラリアの杉山清隆＆オメガトライブ」とでもいいませうか？オフコースまでは至らないか？
夏の風景にこれ程似合う洋楽アーチストは、あとはBeach Boysくらいですかね。
「徹底的に爽やか」です。万人が気に入らないとしても、「耳障り」と感じる人も少ないでしょう。歌詞もとくに深みなどありません。「I LOVE YOU」の一点張り！

従って「どの曲も同じに聴こえる」運命にありますが、海岸線のドライブデートのお供として失敗はないでしょう（そういうシチュエーションで今日、サザンだのユーミンは逆効果になりかねませんし）。

Air Sspplyだけでなく、洋楽初心者の方の「入口」としても悪くはないです。曲数、選曲、価格的にもリーズナブルな範囲でしょう。
