本来なら星１つなのだが、目立った活動をしていないこの時期に新たにCD化されたことと、収録曲の多さを若干評価して星２つとした。

　選曲は、ソロ１作から４作目のアリスタ時代のアルバムからの作品がほとんどで、５作目と６作目からは全く選曲されていない。エリックは、５作目からふたつの全米ヒットを放っているし、最新作である６作目「夢の面影」から日本でシングルカットされた"I Was Born To Love You"、"Someone That You Loved Before"も彼らしいすばらしいバラードである。また、３作目のアルバム作成当時の心情が歌われた名曲"Desperate Fools"やヤマハの世界歌謡祭でポール・ニコラスに歌われ、山根麻衣さんによってもカバーされた崇高なバラード"Foolin' Myself"も残念ながら未収録となったいる。
　ベスト盤としてなら、コレクター以外の方には、「ベストセレクション」や「Definitive Collection」の方をプッシュしたい。両方とも収録曲が多く、前者はシングルのみで発売された"My Heart Stops"が収録され、後者にはラズベリーズ時代の曲とともに珍しい女性コーラスバージョンの"Boats Against The Current"が収録されている。

　個人的に大好きなアーティストだけに、今回のベストではバランスよく選曲されなかったのが非常に残念である。レーベルの問題があるのは理解できるが、もうすこしがんばって欲しかった。

エリック・カルメンのベストアルバムを探していたのですが、他のアルバムよりも２曲程たくさん入っていてこれが一番お得でした。
