   本来、イエスの音楽性を証明するのに交響楽団は必要ない。たとえキーボードのリック・ウェイクマンを欠こうとも（今回は技巧派のトム・ブリスリンが参加）、彼らがプログレの第一人者であることに変わりはないからだ。メンバーは、ベテランの4人。ボーカルのジョン・アンダーソン、ベースのクリス・スクワイア、ドラムのアラン・ホワイト、ギターのスティーヴ・ハウ。そして、ここに加わるのが、画面に栄える若いメンバーで構成されたヨーロピアン・フェスティバル・オーケストラだ（2001年11月アムステルダム公演）。シンフォニーの演奏はイエスの楽曲に深みときらめきを与え、その壮大なサウンドは、フィル・スペクターの“ウォール・オブ・サウンド”の域に達している。収録曲のうち、3曲は2001年に発表の『マグニフィケーション』から。また、『リレイヤー』からは壮大な楽曲「錯乱の扉」を収録。これらの曲が収録されているだけでも、この作品がイエスのDVDの中で最高に価値があるものであることは間違いない。ライヴの裏側をとらえたドキュメンタリーはありふれているし、収録されたビデオは、『マグニフィケーション』の“ドント・ゴー”であるため収録曲と重なっている。しかし、多角的方向から映像を見られるオプションは面白い。また、DTSサラウンドにより素晴らしい音質を実現。楽曲を大音量で楽しめるのもうれしい。（Jeff Shannon, Amazon.com）

最初は、「ちょっとオケがついてこれないかな」などと思いつつ見ていると、Gates Of Deliriumあたりで不覚にも感動して身を乗り出している自分に気づく。一応、KeyboardにはTom Brislinがいるのだが、あくまでシンセ的な音のみADDしてるって感じで、基本はオーケストラがカラフルにデコレートしてます。 これは良いですよ.... でもSteve、もうちょっと良い衣装はなかったの？（それって休日のおやぢでしょ）

正直言って、イエスとオーケストラが組んでコンサートをすると聴いたときは、不安に思った。楽曲を大幅にアレンジしなおして、作品の雰囲気をぶちこわしにされやしないかと・・・
しかし、このDVDを聴いたところ、曲の雰囲気はそのまま維持されており、これまでキーボードで演奏されていたパートをオーケストラが演奏しているというスタイルでほっと一安心。

選曲は長くドラマチックな作品がほとんどで、最初見たときは途中で「もう満足感でおなかいっぱいです」という状態になった（笑）。また、オーケストラといえば堅物というイメージがあったが、演奏者は若い女性（大学生みたい）がほとんどで、若々しくみていても楽しかった。

今回の作品の目玉は、なんと言ってもGates of Delirium。CDではあまりにも音が入り乱れ、聴きづらかったが、ライブ映像を見ると、逆にその入り乱れがバンドメンバーの演奏バトルとなり、迫力満点！。この曲の中盤の「戦争を描いたインストパート」では、オケの分厚いサウンドも加わり、ゾクゾクする。

また、Ritualは、CDを聴いているときは曲が長すぎて、途中で集中が途切れる（睡魔に襲われる・・・）こともあるが、ライブでは逆にもっともっと長く演奏をみたいと思わせるくらい、引き込まれた。

まだまだオーケストラと競演を聞きたかった曲があるので（Awaken）、この企画は復活してほしい。

フルオーケストラをバックに、イエスが名曲の数々を演奏するライブ。イエスはもっと前からこのスタイルでやったほうがよかったのでは、というくらいはまってます。
面白いのは、イエスのメンバーがおじさんくさく、また観客の年齢も高めのため、一番のりのいいのが、バックのオーケストラメンバーの女の子、という点。極めつけはROUDABOUT のオケメンバーによる　ダンス！一押しはソーラバーチをかわいくしたようなティンパニストと、ペネロペクルス似のチェリストです。しかし、このまま高齢化がすすむとロックはいったいどうなってしまうのだろう、、、アンダーソンのしゃべりもちょっと時代錯誤だしね。
