初代･2010･ザ･ヘッドマスターズの順番で放映されたトランスフォーマーシリーズですが、初代を楽しみに見ていて2010が始まった時、あまりの雰囲気というか作風の違いに唖然とし、一応見てはいたものの興味が失いかけたところに再びトランスフォーマーの世界に引き戻してくれた作品。

なにより、2010では殆ど活躍しなかった初代のキャラ達がこれでもかと言わんばかりに登場します。
もちろん2010のキャラも引き続き登場し、今作登場キャラも含め3作品に登場するキャラが一斉に出るためある意味オールスター的な雰囲気も持っています。

後半は今作登場キャラの出番が多くなりますが、それでも最後までしつこいくらいに前作･前々作キャラも活躍し、全体として歴代TF作品中最多の登場人物数を誇る作品です。
(これ以後のTFシリーズは基本的に新作キャラ中心の話で前作を切り捨てて独立した扱いになることが多く、前作･それ以前の作品との繋がりが前面に出ている作品は少ない)

製作が完全に日本中心になり前作前々作のような和洋折衷的雰囲気が雰囲気が少なくなったのに違和感を覚える人も多いようですが、設定･演出等でも続編であることを強く意識している部分もあり、偏見を捨てて一度見てみることをお勧めします。
ある意味、G1シリーズでは初代に最も近い作品と言えるかも知れません。

アメリカと日本の共同制作で作られた、トランスフォーマー、同2010の続編です。
アメリカでの放映が終わり、日本でのオリジナル展開で話が進んでいきます。
世界観は共同制作時代のものを尊重した設定が含まれていますが、
日本独自の演出もなされています。

個人的な好みもあるかと思われる作品ですが、

昨今見られないベテラン声優人などが一同に集っているのも見所のひとつです。

全体的な完成度は、それほど低くないと思われますので、
旧LDシリーズを所持していないなら、購入の価値もあるかと思われます。
