2002年6月3日にバッキンガム宮殿で行われたエリザベス女王即位50周年記念コンサートの模様を収めたCDです。
Queenのブライアン・メイによる"God Save The Queen"を皮切りに、英国を代表するロック・ミュージシャンがそろい踏みの贅沢なライブです。CDに収録されているのは一部ですが、それでもフィル・コリンズ、エルトン・ジョン、クラプトン、ブライアン・ウィルソン、ロッド・スチュアートなどなど！

ビートルズ・ファンの私としてはポールの演奏はもちろん、数々演奏されたビートルズ・ナンバーが楽しみだったのですが、CDには3曲だけでした。ジョージ・ハリスンを偲んだ、クラプトンとポールによる"While My Guiter Gentry Weeps"が入っていないのは凄く残念…。NY救済ライブのように2枚組にして欲しかったところです。

英語版ではDVDも発売されているので、こちらも期待！

CDとしては長めの録音時間ながら「有名アーティストが集ったイベントの“一部”なんだろうな…」という印象は、どうしても受けてしまう。それで“星５つ”にはしなかった…
とは言え、有名な楽曲ばかりが、見事な演奏で集められた一枚で、私は凄く気に入っている!!

コンサートの模様はインターネットで見ていたのでCDの曲目リストを見てとても物足りなさを感じてはいたのですが、自分の好きなアーティストが大々的にフィーチャーされていたので購入しました。
このCDを聴いて思った事は日本の皇室ではああいったコンサートは行われないだろうということ（アタマが堅くて）。映像の方も再び見てみたいとも思っています。
