ＣＭで起用された「ハイ・プレッシャー」でT.M.R.の存在を知ったリスナーの多くが初めて手にしたアルバムがこれではないだろうか。私も勿論そのひとりである。
当時は狂ったようにこのアルバムを聴きまくったのが思い出される。

ＣＭのタイアップでT.M.R.を一気にメジャーに押し上げた「ハイ・プレッシャー」
かなり衝撃的なプロモーションビデオが話題を呼んだ「ホワイトブレス」
思わず笑ってしまいそうな歌詞の「オー・マイ・ガール…」

「ジョーカー」はシングルにならなかったのが不思議なくらいカッコいい曲だ。

洋楽派になってからほとんど聴くことはなかったが、久しぶりに聴いてみると普段バンドものしか聴かないので、デジタルサウンドがかなり懐かしい。

久しぶりに聴いて気付いたことは、私自身当時あまり気にも留めなかったし、メディアでも西川の強烈なキャラクターや(ちょっと女性っぽい)ルックスばかりが注目されていた感じがするが、この人、相当歌が上手いし、声量もかなりのものを持っている。
売れた背景にはプロデュースの力も大きいが、彼のシンガーとしての歌唱力もそれを後押ししていたことは間違いない。

　ハイプレッシャー、ホワイトブレスなど、Ｔ．Ｍ．Ｒの持ち味がストレートに伝わる曲が収まっている作品。加えて、シングルとして発売された以外の曲も非常に聴きやすく、楽しいものも多いので、初めてＴ．Ｍ．Ｒを手に取る人にも十分魅力が伝わると思います。西川さんの歌が嫌いではない人なら、買って後悔する事はないでしょう。

「triple joker」は今となってはもう「懐かしい」CDかもしれません。
しかし、初めて聞く人なら“え！？そんな昔のアルバムなの？”というような気もするハズです。

なんとなく切ない、だけど熱い心にしみる歌があれば、
可愛らしい歌詞の笑ってしまうような歌もある。
楽しくなる歌があれば、泣いてしまうようなものまで。
シングル曲もアレンジされていて楽しめる。
まさにお買い得！な一枚です。

聞けば聞くほど、はまっていきます。
是非聞いてみてください！
