あぶ刑事の第２期TVシリーズ(もっとあぶない刑事)終了後に作成された、あぶ刑事の魅力を満載に詰め込んだ集大成のような映画です。
まず何と言ってもオープニングが渋くて格好良い。
タカ＆ユージが夜の線路を語りながら歩くシーンですが、自分の中ではあぶ刑事シリーズ中もっとも印象に残っており忘れられないオープニングです。

また回を重ねるごとに微妙ですが作品中唯一成長していく「とろい動物」こと町田が良い味出しています。
名物課長である中条静夫さんも健在で、港署オールメンバーでの大活劇は非常に見ものです。
あぶ刑事の魅力を再認識させれくれる意味でも、とても貴重な映画ではないでしょうか。

確かに面白い作品ではあるが、
当初この作品はシリーズ完結編として製作されたために、
終盤はそれまでに比べると非常にシリアスかつ浪花節な展開です。
そのため、これから『あぶ刑事』に接しようとしている一見さんにはオススメできない、玄人向きの作品だと思います。
既に『あぶ刑事』ワールドに馴染みのある人は問題なく見れます。

DVDとしては、当時製作されたメイキングビデオが映像特典として収録されるのがGOODです。
新作映画のDVDに比べるとやはりこの値段が少々お高いのは否めませんが、この映像特典がついていることを考えれば少々のことは大目に見るべきでしょう。

今回のタカと勇次の敵は、小泉純一郎似の県警の本田警備局長。
被疑者を拉致するいつもの先行単独捜査が冴えまくる。
タカと勇次のウィットに富んだアドリブも健在。
銃の乱射シーンもラストのフォーエバザムービと同様むちゃくちゃおおいので、見せ場がものすごく多い。ラストの落ちも気が利いている。

見て損はありません。あぶ刑事ファンならば、当然買いの一本です。
あぶ刑事で歴史に残すべき一本。

あぶない刑事の劇場版は事件がすべて解決した後にちょっとした小ネタが毎回あるんですが、旧シリーズではこれが一番好きですね。死ぬかと思った〜!!
